Washington Commanders (7-3) @ Philadelphia Eagles (7-2)
Not many pegged the Commanders to be contenders in the NFC East prior to the season, but they have a chance to take over top spot in the NFC East on Thursday night. Brian Robinson Jr. is expected to suit up after sitting out last week's game and that means more room for Jayden Daniels to roam outside the pocket. The Eagles are playing steady football on both sides of the ball right now and I think the passing game will exploit this Commanders secondary. Pick: Eagles, 30-23.
Line: Eagles -4
ML: Eagles
Spread: Eagles
Green Bay Packers (6-3) @ Chicago Bears (4-5)
The Bears are unravelling and Shane Waldron was the latest casualty on the coaching staff after he was fired this week. Will that give this Bears offense a jolt? Not likely. Caleb Williams is under siege and hesitant to get the ball out, plus there has been no consistency on defense. I think this Packers team will come into Soldier Field and execute on both sides of the ball to come away with an important divisional win. Pick: Packers, 21-16.
Line: Packers -5.5
ML: Packers
Spread: Bears
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8) @ Detroit Lions (8-1)
The Lions are a heavy home favorite against the reeling Jags and it's a get right spot for Jared Goff. This is a game where Dan Campbell will need to keep his team motivated considering the mismatch on both sides of the ball. Pick: Lions, 29-16.
Line: Lions -14
ML: Lions
Spread: Jaguars
Las Vegas Raiders (2-7) @ Miami Dolphins (3-6)
The Dolphins have their offensive swagger back with Tua Tagovailoa in the lineup and the only question now is the health of Tyreek Hill as he continues to battle a wrist injury. Neutralizing Maxx Crosby off the rush is the key when playing the Raiders and Tua will have to add in some additional blocking to support the line. Pick: Dolphins, 28-20.
Line: Dolphins -7.5
ML: Dolphins
Spread: Dolphins
Los Angeles Rams (4-5) @ New England Patriots (3-7)
The Pats have been feisty this season and I would have pegged them to be further back in the standings to this point in the year. I think the defense plays with an edge, resembling their head coach Jerod Mayo, and that's what keeps them in games. The Rams really need this win after stumbling on Monday night against the Dolphins and look for the focus of the offense to be around Kyren Williams. Pick: Rams, 23-15.
Line: Rams -4.5
ML: Rams
Spread: Rams
Cleveland Browns (2-7) @ New Orleans Saints (3-7)
The Saints may have found some new life under interim head coach Darren Rizzi as they grinded out a win over the Falcons last week. Will this offense get back on track and regain the rhythm they once had from the first two weeks of the season to get themselves back in the playoff hunt? Pick: Saints, 24-17.
Line: Saints -1
ML: Saints
Spread: Saints
Baltimore Ravens (7-3) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2)
This is a great AFC North clash featuring two coaches that have been rivals for close to two decades. Lamar Jackson is playing at an MVP level and the intriguing part about this game will be Russell Wilson's ability to match that. Expect a classic Ravens-Steelers fist fight and this could come down to a final kick. Pick: Ravens, 24-17.
Line: Ravens -3
ML: Ravens
Spread: Ravens
Minnesota Vikings (7-2) @ Tennessee Titans (2-7)
The Vikings settled the storm the last couple of weeks on the tail of a two-game losing streak and now look to continue their push for an NFC playoff spot. I think Kevin O'Connell has done a tremendous job with Sam Darnold this season, but this will be a tough test for the Vikings passing game this week. Pick: Vikings, 23-16.
Line: Vikings -6
ML: Vikings
Spread: Vikings
Indianapolis Colts (4-6) @ New York Jets (3-7)
The Jets might be the biggest disappointment of this season, especially after adding Aaron Rodgers' favorite teammate, Davante Adams. Since joining the Jets, it would appear that Adams has actually opened up some space for Garrett Wilson in the offense, but this team just can't seem to get on track despite the talent. This is a must-win to keep any playoff hopes alive. Pick: Jets, 23-17.
Line: Jets -4
ML: Jets
Spread: Jets
Atlanta Falcons (6-4) @ Denver Broncos (5-5)
The Broncos have surprised me this season and I think they have a legitimate quarterback of the future in Bo Nix. Even if he is a "system guy", he appears to be in the right one under Sean Payton's tutelage. One person that's not a believer? Justin Simmons. The former Broncos safety called Nix out this week, so we'll see if that lights a fire under the rookie. Pick: Falcons, 23-20.
Line: Broncos -2
ML: Falcons
Spread: Falcons
Seattle Seahawks (4-5) @ San Francisco 49ers (5-4)
Another big divisional clash this week, this time in the NFC West. Mike Macdonald's team has shown flashes on offense this season, but the loss of DK Metcalf has made thing challenging in recent weeks -- he returns this week. For the Niners, Brock Purdy continues to impress me, but he will be without the reliable George Kittle in this game, which puts more of an emphasis on the run game. Pick: 49ers, 26-21.
Line: 49ers -6.5
ML: 49ers
Spread: Seahawks
Kansas City Chiefs (9-0) @ Buffalo Bills (8-2)
This is the game of the week. The Chiefs have been undefeated to this point (while not really playing their best football throughout) and the Bills get them at home, looking to deliver that knockout punch. There are some injury questions heading into this one on the home side, but I think Josh Allen rises to the occasion here and scrapes out a win, which makes the race for the top seed in the AFC intriguing. Pick: Bills, 23-20.
Line: Bills -2.5
ML: Bills
Spread: Bills
Cincinnati Bengals (4-6) @ Los Angeles Chargers (6-3)
The Bengals really need a win here in prime time to keep their season alive and it will be a tough task against a physical Chargers team. Jim Harbaugh's defense is elite -- 13.1 Pts/G (1st), 191.6 PYds/G (9th) and 110.6 RYds/G (9th) -- and for Joe Burrow to have any success in this game, he needs to get that ball out quickly, even if that means implementing some screens to the passing game. Pick: Bengals, 23-21.
Line: Chargers -1.5
ML: Bengals
Spread: Bengals
Houston Texans (6-4) @ Dallas Cowboys (3-6)
The Cowboys are the circus of the NFL right now and the best thing that could happen to this franchise (besides Jerry Jones relinquishing control) is losing as many games as possible down the stretch for a better draft pick. The Texans have been on a slide, dropping three of their last four games, and this is a get right spot for them as they look to knock "big brother" off the Texas throne. Pick: Texans, 23-16.
Line: Texans -7.5
ML: Texans
